Documentary: The Myth and Islam

Besides of MCP, we also have to come out with SCP (Single Camera Production) which is part of our Final Year Project as well- Documentary. We were struggling between topic "The Development of 3D" or "Pontianak" at the beginning and the group members cast their votes for " the woman"- Pontianak. Even though this production was in smaller group with 9 members, everything doesn't goes smooth as planned initially. We encountered the difficulties to reach the interviewee we wanted to interview with and conflict also raised among ourselves later.

It was really sad to see the conflict happened among us, of course, we were awkward after all. We are losing direction and uncertain with what we're doing, thats why we were stress and restless while rushing to meet the deadline of other assignments at the same time. It was a bloody killing session! To be frank, I was disappointed with few others group member that never show concern or offering help on this documentary when it is actually THEIR final year work as well, I thought. Without proper communication, the conflict happened when no ones is questioning and asking about the progress of documentary and everyone else seem like dying with own assignment in silent. I feel contrite to my producer with over question on the progress of documentary and irritated her so much in the end. In anyway, I'm thankful for her effort and contribution to the production as well. That day, I saw her tears were rolling in the eyes... ..

Everyone has their own way on handling thing, for me, I would love to talk face to face.Sometimes, most of the time, people hardly hear about your efforts in silent. OR maybe, I'm more demanding person in other saying. Hmmm... There are two important lesson I gained from this experience, Leadership and Communication. Since I've talk about the communication problem earlier, maybe I can share some of opinion on leadership from this production. My director is a gentle and extreme friendly lady, not even that, she is showing her potential in production start from production last year... and I believe she will be even outstanding person equipped with ability on decision making, A Leader. The thought and decision as an leader is important for a production team, because lacking of confident and uncertainty will greatly affect the progress of production. When you've the ability to be in the position, there is no doubt that people have certain level of confident on you by putting you in that place, isnt? For me, I think every production is an opportunity to learn moreover skill, but also knowing yourself better. So, whats your gain in this experience? It is definitely not merely A Production spent you a fortune thats all.

Ayam Kampung

Pisang Goreng treated by Orang Kampung

In the few previous posts in my blog, my coursemates bought me a cake written with "Cik Pontianak" on it during my birthday. Well, I was supposed to act as Pontianak in the initial storyline and we've already shooted the footages! The storyline changed entirly considerate from the aspect of our topic and avoiding ludicrous when watching a familiar face of me! (reduce the impact of realistic in screen). Espcially thanks to our junior, Kahmun for lending the baju kebaya that I'm wearing for shooting purpose.

Frankly speaking, I was quiet stress on this documentary production because there are people with expectation out there on our work. In this production, I've consulted with one of our lecturer Mr Luqman Lee with his knowledge on this topic and he hopes to screen our work during his class as reference for malaysia's topic study. Besides that, the author of 120 Malay Movies Amir Muhammad (Director) also requesting to screen on his exhibition too. I'm so glad for the opportunity and the expectations on us, however, I hope they wouldn't feel too disappointed after seen our student work to their standard....
Stressnya.

The topic on Pontianak was inspired by the book that I've read ( not finishing yet, ohh...) and I found interesting to do something about her since we're limited to Malaysia's topic as well. There is a scene in the storyline (Initial) adopted from the book that acted out by me, it suppose to be "see" like this:

A bloke says of a passing Cantonese-speaking Chinese woman:
"Kalau dia pontianak, aku paku tengkok dia dengan paku, kahwin.
(If she's a pontianak, I will drive a nail into the back of her neck, and marry her)"

To which she replies in Malay,
"Macam mana kau tahu aku bukan pontianak?"
(How do you know I'm not a pontianak?)

                                                                          -120 Malay Movies, p.129

Perhaps when you're reading my post, you've no idea what Pontianak is and about?
Let me clear your doubt by watching our Final Year Project,

那·空白

一组组、一句句、一行行,在我的脑海里漂浮;
一区区、一题题、一横横,像蚂蚁排列在眼前;

刹那间,不知道该如何将那些漂浮的字句安置在属于它的位子。
突然回想,为何那时一片空白;
再想,倘若这只是我今天未醒的噩梦;
更想,如果一切可以再重来。

我视乎,多想了。
我想。

all those good moment

I'm sorry for not updating my blog such a long period because I'm Really BUSY with tons of assignment, after all I'm withering and drying up now....

Finally, I can have a short breath.
.... Nice.

If you're following my blog, you should have know the final year projects took most of my time and the screening was a great success with the attendance of industry's profession and supporting students audiences. Hope the initial purpose we proposed to held the screening out of campus will be continue for every next batch of broadcasting juniors to Raise the Standard of Screening and Value Broadcasting Student Works. I remember the last time when I attending my seniors's screening, it was like a pasar malam....

a complete group photo with everyone of us in the frame of memory
(please ignore the outsider with spec- killjoy)

Talents & Family

In fact, I was THAT busy not even have time to special thanks my friends and family for the celebration of my 23rd birthday. I will always remember the submission of Film Studies was day right after next and I believe everyone is dying complete the assignment on that night, so as me! Furthemore, the screening is counting down 2 days on that week too. Ouch!

Thanks to my coursemates for remember my birthday and Fantabulous fruit cake, how good if I could have that all by myself....  Hmmm, yum yum! This year gonna be unforgettable because it gonna be the last time I can celebrate the birthday with you all, sigh. Well, maybe we should take this more positively as Fai Fai said, every birthday after 21st year is simply reminding us "You're getting old", thats it! To accept the fact, ageing could be a beautiful process.

what're surprise for Pontianak! (tell you why in my next article)

my birthday wishes are  *** *** ***

Thank you, my frens.

A little bit of wine would be nice for birthday

Thanks to ms Cherry and Lemuel for spending time together with me  :)

By now, should I be looking for tissues and shedding tears?
Perhaps deep inside ourselves, we were loath to part with everyone...

Prescription for Cough: Honey Lemon Tea

great. I'm sick now.

I never intend to see doctor until my lung is almost coming out when cough, cough, cough and cough... ..
Don't fall sick if you're not rich enough, the charges is quite high to see a doctor's face for once.
So, I decided to go government hospital and I know everything gonna be suck that day.

As we know, I believe everyone know about the bureaucracy system in every government organisation included hospital, of course. I've to say the system is really killing the suffering patients for "infinity" (long) waiting to your turn, it was such a torture.... ..

Oh why?

Let's Wait.

I'm so proud of myself because I manage to see the doctor at last after went through so many procedures with patience. In order to cure myself in lower price that I can get is Get Up Earlier and WAIT!

Let me tell you the procedures "How to See A Doctor in Government Hospital" :

1. Get your number and WAIT for Registration
2. Pay your Registration Fees (RM5 for Malaysian) and WAIT for the Brief Identification of your illness (Nurse)
3. WAIT for your turn to See the Doctor according to the number (for hours)
4. Get your prescription and queue (WAIT) to Identify the Type and Charges of Medicine
5. Queue (WAIT) again to Pay for your Medicine
6. WAIT for your call according to the number to Collect your Medicine

See, whats that?
In fact, there are few unnecessary procedures that should be abolish to make patient and family's life easier. The entire process to see a doctor took me about 4 hours+ to complete and in between I manage to finished translate a script and had my chicken rice for lunch....

Surprising the doctor is a gentle Chinese man. The funny thing was he made a prescription for me but advise me not to take unless my illness becoming even more serious. Then why do I've to come and see you after all?

medicines

with my little knowledge of science, I know that Paracetamol is also know as Panadol.
But I dun hav any fever leh... ..

He said drinking hot honey lemon tea will let me feel better as demonstrate below, you need to prepare... ..

Lemon cut into slices

Any flavor of tea that you like

Australia Honey (Local honey is cheaper)

Put everything together and add warm water

Here you go, the Hot Honey Lemon Tea to cure my cough!

Rm1.69 per Lemon | Rm 3.99 per box of Lipton Tea |
Rm 9.90 per botol of 250g Capilano Honey

I'm not so sure whether this will work or not just by drinking Honey Lemon Tea but there is no harm to try. At least, is much more healthier than you take so much of chemical medicine... isnt?

Take care of your health and drink more water, Malaysia's weather is unpredictable in the month of April. Unless you want to challenge yourself to complete the "See Doctor" mission.....   *blek*

Use your Brain

"One does not think better in a library or campus,
and one is not smarter simply because one reads as many
books as one can get one's hands on.
